Preparing Teens For Life, Leadership and Career
The SAFE Conference has been described as the most prominent leadership and career conference for teenagers in Nigeria. In subsequent editions, it has gathered up to a thousand teenagers under one roof. Since its inception in 2014, this conference has hosted over 6000 + youths below the age of 19, providing them with the proper orientation needed to survive in life and become active global citizens who proffer solutions to challenges facing them and the world around them.
Before turning 19, past participants have demonstrated clarity of vision, excellent academic performances, purposeful career pursuit and leadership. They have shown a keen interest in community development and entrepreneurship. It brings together teenagers from private and public schools who have demonstrated civic leadership and entrepreneurship interests. The SAFE conference ensures diversity and inclusion like every other Sozo Networks program. The conference has held in four states across Nigeria: Ibadan, Abuja, Lagos and Enugu, Nigeria.
Previous speakers include Adepeju Jaiyeoba (Founder at Mother’s delivery kit ventures and one of JCI top 10 most outstanding young persons in the world), Adeyinka Adebayo (Author and Regional Manager, Fidelity Bank Limited), Modupe Lanre-Akinsiun (HR Manager, AstraZeneca, West Africa, and John Maxwell Institute certified leadership coach), Pastor Femi Aladesanmi (Life coach, Senior Pastor, Global Harvest Church, Head Quarters, Ibadan), High Chief, Senator Lekan Balogun (Olubadan of Ibadan.), Mrs. Achenyo Idachaba -Obaro (Chief Executive Officer of Miti Meth and a popular TED speaker), Mr. Ayodele Odeogbolu (Award-winning Teacher, Varkey Institute Global Teachers Award top 50 finalists.), Olumide Adeleye (President, TWIM Academy), Dr. Abib Olamitoye (Founder, Ibadan Central Hospitals), Mr. Azeez Oluwole ( Founder, Farm Konnect), Mr. Tijani Mayowa (Development Journalist), Mr Segun Adegun (Founder, Rural Farmers Hub) and a host of others.
The SAFE (Securing Africa’s Future through Education) programs are the flagship project of the Sozo Networks, its aim is to bridge the gap in the nation’s education system by offering mentorship and unconventional education that allows teenagers to develop essential skills that are required for leadership in the 21st-century society and workspace. The project fills the gap in the academic curriculum used by most schools in the Nigerian education system. It uses unconventional approaches to equip learners with leadership, life and employability skills required in future workspaces and for innovative entrepreneurship. It includes SAFE Conference and the SAFE Academy for Teenage Leaders.
